Anand Chandrasekar is a senior research faculty member, based out of Singapore. In this role, he leads our Asia-focused leadership development research and evaluation practice, partnering with CCL staff and clients to identify leadership needs, design and deliver leadership development solutions, articulate leadership solution outcomes, and evaluate the solutions for impact and improvement.
Passionate about youth development and believing that access to early leadership development has the most potential to improve lives and create lasting change, Anand expands our Societal Impact agenda to deliver leadership development to youth in Asia.
Anand has over 10 years of experience in research and faculty roles in organizational behavior and leadership development. His research interests lie at the intersection of 3 broad domains — leadership development, positive psychology, and Indian psychology. His research combines the rigor of academia with a practical bent to translate the research to provide new knowledge and solutions that impacts individuals, businesses, and the world. His current research is aimed at understanding the relationship of generosity and leadership and on learning leadership from experience.
He was the co-Principal Investigator for the Understanding the Leadership Gap research study at CCL, lead developer of the Leadership Gap Indicator assessment, and an author of Experience Explorer: From Yesterday’s Lessons to Tomorrow’s Success: Facilitator’s Guide. He also co-authored a CCL research report, State of the Indian CXO: Making Experiences Matter.
Before joining us, Anand was a graduate student at Nanyang Technological University, and was engaged in research and teaching. His earlier work with the Center for Cultural Intelligence involved developing the concept of cultural intelligence and its relation to the adjustment of expatriates.
Anand has a PhD in International Management at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, an MBus from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Madras.
Anand is a member of the International Academy for Intercultural Research and is certified to use CCL’s leadership assessments.
